Why did you choose the investment opportunity offered by MDVP?

As a surgeon, my focus is on expanding the reach of current medical care techniques in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery while also helping to innovate. When I learned about MDVP, I realized that my investments could be an extension of my practice philosophy.

I have personally been involved in advancing cardiovascular health – for instance, I have taught other surgeons new laser revascularization techniques and specialized beating heart surgery techniques – and I was drawn to the idea of using my resources to help doctors in other fields of medicine to develop tomorrow's technology. It feels good to know you're helping to get innovation off the ground, especially in medicine, where as a doctor you can understand how these things will benefit patients.

What would you tell a colleague about becoming a limited partner with MDVP?

Simply put, MDVP makes it possible for those who do good in their professional lives to do good in their financial lives as well. As a Board Member of the American Heart Association, I work hard to promote a lifelong interest in heart education in children and adults while helping spread the word about surgical innovations inside the cardiovascular community. My work is immensely satisfying, and my investment with MDVP – knowing my dollars are helping to bring to market new products and devices – is another avenue for me to help improve lives for the better.

What is your long-range investment goal? What do you want your money to do for you?

Of course, like any investor, I want my money to grow so that I can provide opportunities and financial security for my family. But more than that, I want to have the resources available to continue my outreach efforts in such countries as Malaysia and Sri Lanka, where I've helped to build or expand heart surgery centers and programs.

To me, there's a whole world of need out there, and I want to be able to continue to travel to other areas of the world where sometimes the smallest efforts can make a huge difference in the quality of patient care. The short investment horizon offered by MDVP [5 years] helps me keep my portfolio on track and allows me some financial flexibility if I need it.
